Time is the concept which has preoccupied the thoughts of humans since the earliest civilizations. You can only have been in the last century we have begun to understand Eventually, thanks to the work of Albert Einstein, but the measurement of its passage has been an important part of society.
Historically, time has been measured by the rotation of the Earth and other astronomical cycles such as the phases of the moon. The measurement of time and therefore the identification of the major events during The day, month or year has been crucial to the development of agriculture, religion and sophisticated societies.
While the calendars have been around millennia, from prehistoric monuments such as Stone Henge, thought to indicate the winter solstice and summer, and therefore the identification of the longest and most short days for crop planting, measuring small increments of time has proved a technological challenge.
The first clocks were nothing more than timers, water use, burning candles and sand. These were successful for the measurement of a given period of time, but less useful in identifying how much time is left until daylight of maturity or other important events.
The sundial was the first real clock is possible (on a sunny day) to divide the day into equal increments and therefore provide a consistent measure of the day.
Mechanical clocks first appeared in the fourteenth century. While their technology is based on simple mechanics and were less accurate than existing sundials, which offered a solution to the obvious drawbacks of watches sunshine (cloudy days).

UTC and atomic clocks have possible technologies such as satellites, global communication and the Internet. Most computer networks are governed by an atomic clock through NTP server (Network Time Protocol). NTP servers receive the time signal from an atomic clock signal from either a radio or GPS U.S. (Global Positioning System) network. This allows computers around the world to be synchronized with the same period of time (UTC), which allows time-sensitive transactions, such as the stock securities trading and Internet.
