Head Amp
To the music of today's modern guitar to be heard loud and clear, there are essentially two types of electric amplifiers – called an amplifier combination and head of guitar amplifier. It is not difficult to understand the difference – do not really need any technical skills at all. And depending on your needs, you will learn about a very good amp.
Combo Amplifier
If the guitar is rather limited to small groups in a house, and still very small results in a scenario, then you may be able to get good results in a budget with a guitar amp combination. This "combo" is a unit all-in-one unit, the packaging of the amplifier and speaker (or two) in a compact package – usually a vinyl-covered cardboard or wooden box.
This amplifier is generally low power ratings (15 watts or less), but need not require much more than that. Furthermore, the low power output usually equals lower prices. Of course, you can go wild here, but these amplifiers range in price from about $ 75 for a bargain-basement cheapie, to reach $ 2000 or more. Probably I would settle for the lower end of the spectrum until we actually need to convert my computer. These amplifiers are very popular because of their low price, portability, simplicity and relatively good sound – best. However, it does have limitations.
Guitar Amplifier
If you are a guitar "head" that regularly performs for large groups or audiences – or simply like the best in amplification sound – then a guitar amp head is a large part of his team. These amplifiers are very different from those discussed combination units above. They do not have speakers, and its output power is much more. Amplifier is not uncommon for high power to be evaluated by 300 to 500 amps. Of course, much more complex to use and you must get your hands on a couple of very good speakers for best sound of your expensive equipment.
